2016 LTYC Racing Anouncmnet

The Low Tide Yacht Club is excited to announce that it will be adding a second
class of racing this summer.  In addition to the typical PHRF trophy class, The LTYC will
host a second non-trophy class which will focus on learning the racing basics and getting
more sailors involved on Buzzards Bay.

The Trophy class will follow the standard rules of racing and all boats with a
PHRF rating are invited to test their skills and compete for a trophy.  Registration forms
are available on the Low Tide Yacht Club web page for both classes.

There will be no registration fee for the non-trophy class as no physical awards
will be given out however competitors in this fleet are encouraged to attend the preseason
competitors meeting, at which time the Race Committee will offer a comprehensive
introduction to racing.  This will include a description of racing procedures beginning
with the starting format, a description of each type of mark rounding and a discussion of
applicable rules for each situation.  There will also be time for questions and answers
following the meeting.
